This imaga is from a 35 mm slide taken in the 70's while on a road trip with a friend in Canada. We saw the sunset with the old windmill in a rural area on a dirt road. She stopped her Volkswagen and I laid across the roof of the car to get the right angle. It was shot with a Minolta SRT 101 camera. You'd probably be hard pressed to find one of those these days. I developed the Kodak Ektachrome film in my bathtub, and years later, scanned it to produce this result.
I began my photography career doing feature stories for local newspapers and magazines in Michigan. I have also done commercial studio and public relations work. But I always looked for creative imagery and image-making techniques, even while I was doing assignment work. I attended every seminar I could, and read dozens of books by creative professionals over the years. The work I am presenting here is a result of that constant search to capture and share what I see and experience and create. It is a never-ending passion.
