Vibrant yellow Ranunculus blooms are at the center of the frame surrounded by lush green foliage and a few hints of purple flowers. I took the photograph and rendered it as a digital painting. I use filters with some of the digital paint renderings, but I did this one by hand so I could get the precise broad brush strokes just the way I wanted them. The brush stroking was done with an electronic pen and tablet.
I began my photography career doing feature stories for local newspapers and magazines in Michigan. I have also done commercial studio and public relations work. But I always looked for creative imagery and image-making techniques, even while I was doing assignment work. I attended every seminar I could, and read dozens of books by creative professionals over the years. The work I am presenting here is a result of that constant search to capture and share what I see and experience and create. It is a never-ending passion.
