Artist's Description
A person is sitting in a small boat in the Lake St. Clair flats in Michigan at sunset, The reflection of the boat and person is visible on the serene surface of the water, with silhouettes of tall grass in the foreground. The Flats of Lake St. Clair at Harsen's Island was a favorite hunting spot for Theodore Roosevelt. And the rum runners of the prohibition era would smuggle illegal spirits from Canada, which bordered the lake, to the US.

I began my photography career doing feature stories for local newspapers and magazines in Michigan. I have also done commercial studio and public relations work. But I always looked for creative imagery and image-making techniques, even while I was doing assignment work. I attended every seminar I could, and read dozens of books by creative professionals over the years. The work I am presenting here is a result of that constant search to capture and share what I see and experience and create.
