The flowing lines of the driftwood gave me the idea for this whimsical montage of 2 unlikely subjects that I placed together to create an organic juxtaposition. Gazing out from a swirl of abstract shapes and warm colors, the intense eyes draw the viewer in, suggesting a sense of mystery and emotion. The flowing lines of the driftwood surrounding the eyes create a dynamic sensation, as if the image itself is in motion.

I began my photography career doing feature stories for local newspapers and magazines in Michigan. I have also done commercial studio and public relations work. But I always looked for creative imagery and image-making techniques, even while I was doing assignment work. I attended every seminar I could, and read dozens of books by creative professionals over the years.
